By entering the name of the unwanted material and your location (zipcode or City), RE:Source will let you know if it can go in your curbside bin, if it eligible for an on-call/special pick-up by your trash hauler, and a list of facilities that accept your material.
A waste is a hazardous waste if it is a listed waste, characteristic waste, used oil and mixed wastes. Specific procedures determine how waste is identified, classified, listed, and delisted. For more information, please visit the California Department of Toxic Substances Control website.
Residents can safely discard a wide variety of household hazardous wastes to their local Household Hazardous Waste Facility at no charge. Must be a resident or qualified small business in specified portion of County to use these facilities (e.g. must be resident or qualified small business in West County to use West County Facility). CENTRAL COUNTY: For residents of Alamo, Blackhawk, Clayton, Concord, Clyde, Danville, Lafayette, Martinez, Moraga, Orinda, Pacheco, Pleasant Hill, San Ramon, Walnut Creek and other unincorporated areas in Central County.

The Mobile Citizen app allows community members to instantly communicate with Contra Costa County authorities about issues they see such as: Potholes, Graffiti, and Illegal dumping.
The Mobile Citizen application is free and can be downloaded in the App Store for iPhone and iPad or the Google Play store for Android smart phones and tablets.
Email address and location (Contra Costa County) is required to register and use the app. Select the service, take a photo, provide information about the issue and details about the location then submit.
Go to the App Store to download the app for iPhone and iPad OR go to the Google Play store to download the app for Android smart phones and tablets by either scanner the QR code with your mobile device, or clicking on the title graphic above it. The application requires registration to use, which includes providing an email address and setting Contra Costa County as the location.
