The Contra Costa Resource Conservation District (CCRCD) is thrilled to announce that it will host a first-of-its-kind, sustainable festival in Crockett, California! The Shoreline Festival will celebrate air, fire, water, and earth—the elements that shape our natural environment. Amazing performers, dance troops, and live bands will delight you with their talents on two stages. Bands that will play on the main stage include The Purple Ones - Insatiable Tribute to Prince, Busta-Groove!, Mitch Polzak & The Royal Deuces, and Blame the Whiskey. Children’s entertainment, including music by Martin and the Green Guitar, sing-a-longs, games, and hands-on activities, will delight young ones throughout the day.

Scheduled wine and beer tastings will take place throughout the day in a beautiful tasting tent. Food vendors and food trucks will offer a variety of cuisines for sale, including vegan and gluten-free options. Take flight in a hot air balloon with Sky Drifters for epic views of the Carquinez Strait, the Carquinez Bridge, and a special aerial view of the Festival. The Festival will not only be beautiful from the ground; it has been designed to be a unique visual art piece from high above, as well. There will be artisans and small businesses selling their art and wares and lots of wonderful sustainable goods.
Community groups will lead pop-up workshops on a wide range of exciting topics, including hands-on free activities.  This is a low-to-no-waste Festival and will highlight the future of the shoreline in Contra Costa County. There will be a focus on sustainable living, clean water practices, and environmental education. The Festival is a fun, exciting, and free opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy the potential of this wonderful niche of the county once again!
Let the celebration begin!

Carquinez Recover the Waterfront Committee

In late 2017, the Carquinez Recover the Waterfront committee (CReW) formed to develop the Carquinez Waterfront from a waste area into a fully integrated community landscape and local habitat restoration.  This waterfront will provide a common use space for activities such as picnics, relaxation, community gatherings, and recreation staging, as well as connections to preexisting infrastructure including open space, the Bay Trail route, the Carquinez Strait waterway, non-profit volunteer facilities, and under-bridge plantings.  The CReW Committee is made up of community members, business owners and local organizations, and is being hosted by the CCRCD.  You can contact CReW at:  RecovertheWaterfront@gmail.com

Regularly meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm in the small room at the Crockett Community Center.
