Carbon Farming
Picture
Contra Costa RCD, in partnership with the USDA NRCS and the Carbon Cycle Institute is currently developing a Carbon Farming Program for Contra Costa county. Carbon Farming looks at on-farm conservation practices through the lens of carbon sequestration in addition to other conservation concerns such as nutrient management, water management, or erosion control.

Through the Patagonia Environmental Grants Program, Contra Costa RCD with the Carbon Cycle Institute acting as a fiscal sponsor received a grant to develop Carbon Farm Plans with willing producers in September 2017. If you are interested in Carbon Farm Planning or would like to develop a Carbon Farm Plan on your farm or ranch, please contact Ben Weise.
