~Creek Clean-Up~

April 2008

All our wonderful volunteers pitched in and helped drag old furniture, baby strollers, grocery carts, old tires... well just about everything except the kitchen sink out of the Lower Rodeo Creek... And if there is a sink in there... we'll catch it next time around!

The kids were amazed at the amount of garbage in the creek! Everytime they found a new "treasure" you could hear the excitement in their voices as they yelled to the adults for assistance in dragging the water ladden items out of the creek.

At one point during the clean-up, the kids were able to clearly see the fruits of their labor. A stagnant area of the creek began to flow after they removed an old tire and a stroller from a narrow area of the creek. What once was nearly standing water became a flowing creek again!

Even the local waterfowl approved of the new and improved condition of their favorite watering hole!

Thanks for all of your hard work volunteers!

The Rodeo Creek looks Fantastic!!
