              Program Description

If you regularly walk the trails along Marsh Creek or its tributaries, you can help the Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed by keeping an “eye on the creek” and occasionally telling us what you’re seeing.  Your observations can help us monitor the health of the creek habitat and detect any problems at an earlier stage.  Over time you’ll get better acquainted with Marsh Creek and our local environmentLearn more!

Program Goals

S       Inspire interest in Marsh Creek as a natural resource for the East Contra Costa community.

S       Provide more “eyes on the creek” to monitor creek conditions and wildlife.

S       Provide information to help the Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed group in their creek stewardship work.

S       Encourage residents to get outside, exercise, and enjoy the trails and nature.

Program Sponsors & Funding

This program was developed by the Contra Costa Resource Conservation District with cooperation from the Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed.  Funding to establish this program was provided by a CALFED Watershed Program grant to the Natural Heritage Institute.   We hope the community will enjoy this program and seek ways to continue it beyond that time.                             top
