Help Restore Strentzel Meadow in Martinez

We
usually work on the First and Third Saturdays of eacy month from 9am to noon.  But please contact Mary or Elaine to confirm this. We cancel for heavy rain, but not for a light drizzle.

 

Bring garden gloves, trowels or weeding tools, if you have them, and water. (otherwise we'll provide them).
Wear sunscreen and/or a sun hat, long pants and close-toed shoes.


Directions to Strentzel Meadow, Martinez:

§         Take Highway 4 to the Alhambra Avenue exit.

§         Proceed on Alhambra Ave. (away from downtown Martinez) under the railroad trestle for less than a mile.

§         Turn Right onto Alhambra Valley Road. (stoplight)

§         Pass John Swett Elementary school and Sheridan and Strenzel lanes (all on your left).

§         The meadow will be on your right (across from Jose Lane).

§         Turn right into the private drive at 5026 Alhambra Valley Road.

§         Park immediately on your right.

Please note: This site is not open to the public. Access is granted for workdays only. Parking is limited at the meadow site. Alternative parking is available at John Swett Elementary School, 4955 Alhambra Valley Road, about 1/5th mile from the meadow. The road is narrow, so watch for traffic. Before parking at the school, first check for available parking at the meadow site.
